Watch Travis Kelce Record a Christmas Song in the Studio

TK SING XMAS

Looks like Taylor Swift’s musicality is already rubbing off on her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The Chiefs tight end has been spotted in the studio — and for a good cause.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship has gotten a lot of press since Swift was seen cheering Kelce on earlier this year, and things moved quickly from there, including NYC date nights, that offstage kiss in Argentina, and that “Karma” lyric change heard ’round the world. Given all the time he’s spent soaking in his girlfriend’s talent, it was only a matter of time before Kelce himself decided to give music a try, right?

No, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is not releasing an album or duetting with Swift. He’s simply helping his brother out. Kelce appears on his older brother and Eagles player Jason Kelce’s charity Christmas album, A Philly Special Christmas Special, singing a cover of the cult classic “Fairytale of New York” by The Pogues, which has been transformed into “Fairytale of Philadelphia” for the occasion.

Travis and Jason sing the duet together, and while neither of them have what we’d call Broadway-worthy voices, they do a pretty good job bringing the revamped song to life, complete with new lyrics and some festive brotherly joking and ribbing. (Do we think he asked Swift for singing tips?)

Apparently Travis hasn’t even listened to it; it’s clear he’s not looking for musical stardom and very much prefers the football field. “Dude, I do not want to hear myself sing like that. I’ve got more of the rock voice,” he said on his podcast New Heights, which he hosts alongside his brother.

Will the Kelces’ “Fairytale of Philadelphia” become a new holiday classic like Swift’s “Christmas Tree Farm?” Um, probably not. But hey, it’s the thought that counts. Watch a snippet of Travis Kelce in the studio recording his half of the duet in ET’s video below:
