Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes’ Museum of Mahomes brand will drop 15,000 digital collectibles this September.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already won a pair of Super Bowl championships (and MVP awards) during his six NFL seasons, plus he was one of the first athletes to make a big NFT splash back in 2021. Now he’s diving back in with his Museum of Mahomes NFT brand, with plans for a new drop.

Set to debut new collectibles in September, Museum of Mahomes will serve up NFTs inspired by the Chiefs star, some of which will be tied to real-world perks like physical trading cards, autographed jerseys and footballs, and more.  The “Museum of Mahomes II” collection will span 15,000 NFTs, according to a representative, with artwork inspired by the entirety of his NFL career to date. Museum of Mahomes has yet to reveal which network it will mint NFTs on, let alone the price for the collectibles.

Mahomes, who led his team to victory in the latest Super Bowl in February, first dropped his own NFTs in March 2021 and yielded $3.7 million worth of sales as the NFT space first caught fire. Owners of those original NFTs will be able to claim physical versions of their collectibles, which will be signed by the MVP himself.  His previous 2021 drop also used the “Museum of Mahomes” branding and took place on MakersPlace, a broader Ethereum NFT marketplace and platform. The project is led by digital agency D-O-M, which was also involved in the earlier drop.

A portion of proceeds from NFT sales will benefit Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation to benefit children in underserved communities through various initiatives.  “I am excited to offer physical replicas to holders of the Museum of Mahomes I collection and do some good in the world with the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation as a part of the Museum of Mahomes II release,” said Mahomes, in a release.

Although Mahomes has set out on his own with NFTs, he’s also been the face of Dapper Labs’ NFL All Day, serving as an official spokesperson when that digital collectibles platform opened to the public last August.
