Despite concerns inside the organization surrounding the franchise quarterback’s leadership style, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni cleared the air about what the team wants out of Jalen Hurts.

After previous reports stated the Philadelphia Eagles were looking for franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts to alter his leadership style to become more vocal, head coach Nick Sirianni massively cleared the air.  Philadelphia’s head coach made it clear at the 2024 Scouting Combine on Tuesday that the organization was not looking for Hurts to change his leadership at all, and that the team was fully behind him as the face of the franchise.

“Jalen has special qualities people will follow. He needs to do it his way,” Sirianni said. “Jalen needs to lead how he does, AJ needs to lead in his way, Slay in his own way… Leading by your example is a great way to lead.”  The head coach also added that he doesn’t want Hurts to be someone he’s not inside the walls of the Novacare Complex.

Sirianni’s comments came after a report Tuesday morning from the Philadelphia Inquirer stated that the head coach and his overall coaching staff treated star players “differently” than others, with Hurts and top wide receiver AJ Brown being among those who were not sufficiently coached.

Despite the continued anonymous sources complaining about last year’s 11-7 finish, the Eagles have officially turned the page to the 2024 offseason. With new play-callers on both offense and defense, it’s apparent that despite the rumored reports, the team is pleased to still have Hurts as their franchise quarterback.
