Chicago Sky’s promising rookies, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, added another memorable moment to their burgeoning careers by throwing the ceremonial first pitches at Wrigley Field on Tuesday.  The event took place before the Chicago Cubs’ game against the Atlanta Braves, marking another high-profile appearance for the duo in their new city.

Reese & Cardoso continue to take Chicago by storm

Reese and Cardoso, selected third and seventh respectively in the 2024 WNBA Draft, have been active around Chicago, engaging with fans and the community.  This latest appearance at the iconic ballpark is a testament to their growing popularity and the excitement surrounding their potential impact on the Sky.

Cardoso, who delivered her pitch first, threw slightly off target, eliciting cheers and laughs from the supportive crowd.  Reese followed with a smooth, easy toss that, in today’s MLB, might have been called a strike.

Angel Reese to make home debut next Saturday

Angel Reese, coming off a whirlwind month that included walking the Met Gala red carpet and a performance with Megan Thee Stallion, has quickly become a fan favorite.  Her dynamic presence on and off the court is making waves.

In the Sky’s opening games, she has averaged an impressive 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, contributing significantly to the team’s 1-1 start to the season.  Kamilla Cardoso, although yet to debut due to a shoulder injury, is anticipated to be a formidable force for the Sky.

Her debut is expected on June 1 against the Indiana Fever, where fans eagerly await her contribution to the team’s frontcourt alongside Reese.  The Sky began their season with a tough loss to the Dallas Wings but bounced back to even their record.  Their first home game at Wintrust Arena this Saturday against the Connecticut Sun promises to be an electrifying event, especially with Reese’s strong start and the anticipation of Cardoso’s return.

As Reese and Cardoso continue their press tour and integrate into the city’s sports culture, their impact both on and off the court is set to grow, promising a bright future for the Chicago Sky.
