Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have a near-telepathic relationship that has led to unrivalled success.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback/tight end tandem have won three Super Bowls together including 2024’s edition of the Big Game against the San Francisco 49ers.

The dynamic duo are one of the most formidable one-two punches in NFL history and it’s clear they inspire each other to even greater heights.  NFL Films recently shared unseen footage from this past season which included Kelce’s motivational message to Mahomes.

“Mahomes and Kelce with that sixth sense,” the commentator says as the Chiefs pair emerged from the locker room together ahead of the AFC divisional round clash with the Buffalo Bills.  “It’s like a veteran pitcher that has the catcher that he loves behind him.”

After taking to the field at Highmark Stadium, Kelce shared a powerful five-word message to Mahomes that ultimately set the tone for the rest of the playoffs.  “You be you all day!” the All-Pro TE yelled.  “One-five, you be you all day, dog.”  The No.3 seeded Chiefs had their doubters all season long but Superman Mahomes channelled his greatness and silenced the doubters.

The Mahomes-Kelce axis went on to connect for two scores during that Bills game.  In doing so, they recorded the most postseason touchdown connections (16) in league history for a QB/TE – moving one ahead of New England legends Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

Their remarkable chemistry, so long the cornerstone of Andy Reid’s offensive playbook, popped up once again in the AFC Championship game to stun the top-seeded Ravens.  Mahomes and Kelce connected 11 times for 106 yards and an early touchdown en route to a 17-10 victory at M&T Bank Stadium.

Mahomes continued to follow Kelce’s advice in the Las Vegas Super Bowl, throwing for 333 yards and two touchdowns, the second of which was a game-winner to Mecole Hardman in overtime.  Kelce, who lost his cool in ‘Big Red’s’ face, ended the contest with 93 receiving yards as the Chiefs became the first team to win back-to-back Lombardi Trophys since the 2004 Patriots.

The 2023-24 season was the year Mahomes and Kelce cemented their legacy as well as the Chiefs dynasty.  The greatest playoff duo are not done yet though and now have their sights set on an unprecedented three-peat.  “I’m going to celebrate tonight,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes said after winning Super Bowl LVIII.  “I’m going to celebrate at the parade.  “And then I’ll do whatever I can to be back in this game next year and try to go for that three-peat.”  And it’d take a brave person to bet against them.
