Taylor Swift is Travis Kelce’s No. 1 fan! The singer, 33, “liked” PEOPLE’s Instagram post about the NFL star’s latest win on Sunday when Kelce became the new all-time leading receiver in Kansas City Chiefs franchise history.
Swift and Kelce, 34, have been making headlines for their ongoing relationship ever since the singer first attended one of the athlete’s games on Sept. 24. She has since been spotted at three more of Kelce’s games, sitting with his friends and family while cheering for the two-time Super Bowl winner. Kelce’s last public sighting with Swift came after the Chiefs’ 31-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 22 at Arrowhead Stadium.
During Kelce’s latest NFL game over the weekend, which took place in Frankfurt, Germany, he and the Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins 21-14. The Chiefs dominated early on with a solid 21-point lead by the end of the first half. Though the Kansas City team failed to score in the second half, the Dolphins came up short by the end of the game, with only 14 points in the third quarter.
Kelce finished the game with 14 yards on 3 catches, which upped his career total for receiving yards to 10,941 — making him the new all-time leading receiver in Chiefs franchise history. The feat meant he surpassed Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez’s previous record of 10,940 by one yard.
Ahead of the Sunday game, Kelce spoke during his scheduled media availability, when one reporter asked him a bold personal question about his budding romance with Swift. According to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, the reporter asked, “What is the latest status and are you in love?” to which the athlete replied with a grin, “The latest status is I got to see her last week. That’s the latest status right there,” as seen in a video shared by the El Capologist Podcast on X (formerly Twitter).
The reporter didn’t let Kelce dodge that second part of her question, however, and she quickly chimed in, reiterating, “And the second question was … are you in love?” Kelce responded: “I’m going to keep my personal relationship personal.” Swift’s social media support for her new beau came on the same day that 1989 (Taylor’s Version), the re-recorded version of her 2014 album, claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, earning the Midnights crooner the biggest album debut of her career.
The album, which dropped on Oct. 27, is Swift’s 13th No. 1 on the Billboard chart. It also marks the biggest debut of any album, based on unit sales, since Adele dropped 25 in 2015, per Billboard. The album’s sales in the first week alone — 1.6 million units in the U.S. (and over 3.5 million units worldwide) — broke the record she’d previously set for herself with the release of the original version of the album in 2014, at 1.287 million.
1989 (Taylor’s Version) marks the fourth re-recording from the Grammy winner, coming several months after she dropped Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in July and following the 2021 re-releases of Fearless and Red.
