Angel Reese is back from her Louisiana State University-imposed suspension and Shaquille O’Neal is more than excited for her as she can resume her developing career in the NCAA basketball leagues. Reese had been dropped randomly after the fixture against Kent State on November 14, which even led to a war of words between parents, as she was seemingly criticized for causing “locker room issues” by the coach.
But now, after Kim Mulkey confirmed her availability for the game on Wednesday, December 6, fans are excited and O’Neal, who previously hyped her up, was seemingly anticipating her return as he shared the news onto his Instagram story.
The No.7 ranked LSU Tigers have coped just fine in her absence by winning all four of their fixtures to extend their seasonal record to 5-1 (0.833) but she is an undeniable presence on the court as she led the Southeastern Conference in points and rebounds in 2022/23.
Shaq is following her career He’s clearly keeping an eye on her career after previously praising her talents when he called her “the greatest athlete to ever come out of LSU Sports” to “The Big Podcast” in April 2023.
“She delivered that package,” O’Neal said to the podcast. “It’s a lot of names you can throw around, men and women, but she’s probably the greatest athlete. “Some people are going to exclude it to women athletes. I’m not doing that. She’s the greatest athlete to ever come out of LSU because she got it done. Joe Burrow got it done a couple of years ago, but she’s way more athletic than he is.”
It’s certainly a bold claim from the four-time NBA champion, regarded as one of the best centers ever, but if anyone knows about athleticism it would be someone with that kind of sports history.
