The Philadelphia Eagles suffered injury scares to quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver AJ Brown in their final game of the regular season against the New York Giants on Sunday. First, Brown limped off the field with a knee injury, then Hurts’ middle finger on his throwing hand appeared to pop out of socket after colliding with Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke.
Hurts returned to the game and didn’t miss an Eagles’ offensive possession. Brown is listed as questionable to return to the game, but has yet to play another snap since his injury. Philadelphia didn’t have the luxury of sitting out players for its final game of the season because it’s competing for playoff positioning in the NFC.

The Giants have an early huge lead on the Eagles at 24-0 in a game that effects Philadelphia’s standing much more than New York. About a month ago, the Eagles were viewed as Super Bowl favorites at 10-1 and had the best record in the NFL. Since then, Philadelphia is 1-4 and in a major hole against its NFC East rivals.
Hurts and Brown are both integral to the Eagles success, with a much harder road to the Super Bowl ahead this season, even if they’re both healthy. Hurts hasn’t been great against New York, with only seven completions and a second-quarter interception.
