The Kansas City Chiefs faced wide receiver issues in the past season, lacking a 1,000-yard receiver and leading in dropped passes despite winning the Super Bowl. To address this, they signed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown for the 2024 season, aiming to bolster their receiving corps.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has expressed excitement about playing with Brown, highlighting his potential to significantly contribute to the team.

“He just brings a ton of dynamic playmaking ability and I think just being able to add a guy like that who’s ready to come in and work and be hungry,” Mahomes said.  “I’ve already talked to him. Going to be a lot of throwing sessions in our future and we’re trying to keep this thing rolling.  “We’re going to win the soccer championship here with the women’s soccer team [the NWSL’s Kansas City Current] and then we’re going to try to go back to that Super Bowl again.”

Ready to unblock his full potential

Brown, known for his speed and talent, had a successful 2021 season with over 1,000 receiving yards and six touchdowns but experienced a drop in production since then, possibly due to playing for struggling teams with inconsistent quarterback play.

Playing with Mahomes, regarded as one of the most talented quarterbacks in NFL history, could unlock Brown’s potential further. The combination of Mahomes and Brown could make the Chiefs even more formidable, as they already pose a challenge with Mahomes’ prowess at quarterback.
