The Philadelphia Eagles have successfully completed the famous quarterback sneak that is also known as the ‘Tush Push’ or the ‘Brotherly Shove’ a total of 41 times out of 44 attempts since 2022. No other team in the league does it like they do and people want to know why this play is so successful with the Eagles. Center Jason Kelce is an essential part of this play because he is the one who snaps the ball to quarterback Jalen Hurts and helps create the space needed to score the touchdown. But the reason behind so many successful attempts was just revealed by Kelce himself, who spoke to the folks at NFL.com to explain how the Eagles do it.
Jason Kelce first attempted to knock on wood in order to not jinx the success rate. He also talked about the many repetitions they do in practice. Both he and Jalen Hurts have reached a level of synchronicity that is rare in the sport. Here’s what Jason Kelce said about the ‘Tush Push’: “We’ve repped it a lot…As soon as that ball is moving, you’re moving forward or changing your leverage and bending down. The quarterback is already moving forward to be able to start pushing. If you do not rep that exact mechanism, and all of a sudden in the first time in a game, you’re doing it for the first time, it’s going to feel weird.”
Coming up on THE NFL REPORT , @Eagles C Jason Kelce explains to @JamesPalmerTV and me details on Brotherly Shove/Tush Push. For the entire interview at 7:15 pm ET, go to https://t.co/5JSCRfdPC8 pic.twitter.com/yqbwtCBmhH

Can the Eagles’ ‘Tush Push’ be banned in the NFL?
It is also important to understand just how dangerous this quarterback sneak in the end zone can be not only for the QB but for the center and other players involved in the clash as well. Amid so much controversy surrounding CTE, a play like this can be considered amongst the most damaging to players’ heads. But this play can only be banned in football after being put to a vote from all teams. Also, it needs to be placed on the agenda for the Competition Committee. If that doesn’t happen, the ‘Brotherly Shove’ will keep on happening and the Philadelphia Eagles will keep scoring touchdowns.
