The Louisiana State University Lady Tigers star Angel Reese has been making headlines ever since she was transferred into her current team. She has grown widely popular with basketball fans and as a result, a record-breaking 9.9 million people tuned in to watch the much-anticipated NCAA Championship Finals between the LSU and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Her contracts especially her swimsuit deal also brought in a huge chunk of money that changed Reese’s life within days. However, Reese recently flexed her generous attitude towards money.  For the unversed, Angel Reese is an LSU Tiger’s stretch four who recently bagged the coveted NCAA Championship with her team. Let us have a look at what she had to say.

What did Angel Reese say?

Angel Reese opened up on her generous attitude with a WRBZ reporter on Tuesday. She spoke about how she shares some expenses with her teammates. “I pay for the girls. Everybody can get their makeup done. I am always there for my girls. I know it’s tough managing money.”

With a NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) valuation of $1.7 million as per On3, Reese stands sixth among amateur athletes and only second among women- next to the LSU gymnast Livvyy Dunne. She has grabbed contracts with conglomerates like Calvin Klein, Outback Steakhouse, and Sports Illustrated.

The 21-year-old’s market valuation increased exorbitantly when she propelled her team to win the NCAA championship against her rival Caitlin Clark-led Iowa Hawkeye. Throughout the tournament, she caught media attention with her antiques and trash talk against Clark. This also brought her a fair share of popularity and increased her NIL deals to 17.

The Maryland-born confessed about her shopping spree in an interview with Overtime. She admitted to buying luxury handbags and also a Mercedes Benz on her birthday. Apart from that, Reese has also established The Angel C. Reese Foundation which offers financial literacy to emerging female athletes. These are a testament to the money she has been earning all this time.

How does Angel’s future look?

After her transfer to the LSU under coach Kim Mulkey, Reese would be keeping an eye on the WNBA draft 2024 where she would have an opportunity to take her game up a level. Her younger brother Julian Reese has also been making headlines especially when Angel taunted him for a “weak” dunk in a basketball practice session for the Maryland Terrapins.

Thus, Angel has been the great teammate that the LSU Lady Tigers needed. Will the LSU be able to retain the NCAA championship title during the upcoming season? Will Angel also make her presence felt at the highest level? Only time will tell. But do let us know your opinions in the comment below.
