Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, is on a mission to raise awareness about severe food allergies in young children after a frightening incident involving their 1-year-old son, Bronze. In an Instagram video, Brittany, 28, shared the ordeal she faced over the summer when Bronze suffered a severe allergic reaction to peanuts. Describing it as “one of the scariest experiences of [her] life,” she emphasized the importance of educating parents on recognizing and responding to such situations.
“So I have an infant and a toddler both who have severe food allergies, and I think it is very important to raise awareness of what a severe reaction may look like if it were to happen to a child,” Brittany explained in the video, created in partnership with AUVI-Q, an epinephrine injection used to treat allergic reactions in infants and toddlers.

Parents must be aware of their children
While she didn’t provide specific details about Bronze’s reaction, she highlighted that severe reactions might not manifest as expected. Urging parents to be vigilant, she emphasized the importance of educating everyone on using injectors in case of emergencies.
Brittany shared that they sought immediate medical attention after the incident, ensuring they had necessary medication for any future occurrences. She stressed that the safety of children is paramount, especially when they are out and about. The incident prompted the Mahomes family to take swift action, with Brittany expressing gratitude for the support they received from fellow parents.
