Lady Tigers played their semi-final match against Ole Miss Rebels in the SEC tournament. Though LSU squad won the game by a 75-67 margin, one moment of concern for the team was when their senior guard Last-Tear Poa fell on the floor while taking charge and suffered a concussion in the process. The Melbourne-born had to be taken from the court on a stretcher.

While many fans were heartbroken since they felt it could weigh heavy on the LSU team, the remaining six minutes of the fourth quarter saw stunning play from Kim Mulkey’s girl band.

“Everybody was emotional”

Taking cognizance of the injury-ridden LSU, their star Aneesah Morrow during the post-match press conference was asked about what drove the team despite facing difficulties. Without much ado, Morrow opined that LSU are a strong team and Poa’s woes weren’t powerful enough to deter them off the track. A YouTube Short of the same went viral on the platform.

“Everybody was emotional and tearing up but our team done been through hell. Like let’s be honest and we just told each other we have to have each other back. Like we’ve been through worse than this and just pull her back because she would want us to win this game for her,” Morrow stated.

When the injury happened, it shook the LSU, and Poa’s teammates were seen in tears. Nonetheless, they held their ground as the LSU smashed 22 points in the fourth quarter in response to the Mississippi’s 16. Their star Angel Reese smoked 21 points with 17 rebounds. Similarly, Morrow too smashed 12 points with 12 rebounds. Therefore both the mainstay players thrashed a double-double.

Meanwhile, as per LSU’s official site, Poa was admitted to the hospital for CT Scans which to their relief came back negative. She is expected to be discharged soon. The LSU had a 6-point lead at the time of injury but soon extended it to win the margin by a decent margin.

It showed that the LSU are a formidable team and can come together for a win even during difficult circumstances. With this victory, the LSU have advanced to the Finals.
What’s next for the LSU?

They would be battling it out against the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks. It will be an interesting match to watch since the Gamecocks last met LSU in the regular season, defeating them by a narrow margin of 76-70. This time too fans of both sides would be expecting a nail-biting thriller and hopefully, both teams will deliver on that with a cut-throat fight.
