Angel Reese blushes after providing the assist of the year and proves she can be the best

reese fire

Angel Reese starred in front of the largest crowd in Alabama Women’s Basketball history by producing a double-double inspiring the LSU Tigers to a 78-58 victory.  Reese put up 20 points and 17 rebounds to send a firm message to any haters who called her problematic or overrated, particularly in the wake of her suspension from the team for a spat with a player in the dressing room.

5575 watched her and her NCAA colleagues hand defeat to the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Coleman Coliseum but, despite the 20-point winning margin, it wasn’t easy. Reese’s team trailed 35-34 at half-time. It could have been much worse, but Reese and Flau’jae Johnson produced a 9-0 points run to put them firmly in the game again.  But then came a particularly impressive third quarter (26-10) which saw them take control of the contest. They also won the final quarter 18-13 for good measure to head out of the venue with their latest win on January 19.

The victory was much needed after their defeat to the Auburn Tigers on January 14, where they lost 67-62 after dropping six points in the final quarter.

Morrow and Reese shine

As aforementioned, Reese was at the usual standard that has seen the NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal serve as a mentor to her budding career but another person grabbing the headlines was Aneesah Morrow.

Morrow has just joined the Tigers and immediately struck up a rapport with the All-American forward to destroy the Crimson Tide’s defensive efforts in front of their home fans.  Together, they combined for 40 points and 28 rebounds as they proved too much to handle. Morrow also scored a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, like Reese, marking the 12th time this season that she has accomplished the feat.
