It appears that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has passed down one of his most divisive traits to his son, Bronze Mahomes. Patrick’s wife Brittany posted a video of the 1-year old throwing a dramatic tantrum on the golf course that mirrored behavior every NFL fan has seen before.
“This is what happens when we tell him golf is over,” Brittany says on her Instagram story in between cries from her baby, Bronze. Appropriately, Patrick Lavon Mahomes III (nicknamed Bronze) is named after his father, who is notorious for throwing fits on the gridiron when the Chiefs don’t get calls he wants from the referees.
Patrick Mahomes’ “crybaby” reputation
The two-time NFL MVP had notable meltdowns with the refs last season in primetime games against the Eagles, Packers and Bills. In other games, like against the Raiders and Dolphins, he lost his cool at his own teammates. Many NFL analysts saw his behavior and assumed the Chiefs were a fractured team.
The behavior carried all the way through the NFL Playoffs, rubbing off on his teammates along the way. Travis Kelce’s outburst at Andy Reid in the Super Bowl was another example of Chiefs petulance that got swept under the rug when they lifted their third Lombardi Trophy in five seasons in Las Vegas.
Of course, Bronze has an even better cover-up than winning a Super Bowl: he’s still a baby. While nobody will be mad at the youngest Mahomes for being upset that his time on the golf course was over, there’s no denying that the extra layer of flair and dramatic timing in his tantrum was something right out of Patrick’s playbook.
