Patrick Mahomes Continues To Hold A Must-See Record

Patrick Mahomes is considered by many to be the best player in the NFL these days, and his two Vince Lombardi Trophies are proof that he is becoming an all-time great before everyone’s eyes.  To win a world championship in any team sport, one must not only play well in championship games, but one must also do well while playing on the road.

It is not a common threat, but it is one Mahomes seems to have.  Ever since the AFL-NFL merger, Mahomes owns the best road winning percentage against teams in the Kansas City Chiefs‘ own division — in fact, he is undefeated in that category, per NFL on CBS.

Some may downplay that stat by pointing out how infrequently the Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Denver Broncos have made the playoffs since the 2018 season, which was the year Mahomes first became a full-time starter.  Still, going undefeated on the road against other teams in one’s division isn’t easy at all, especially when the Chiefs have had something of a target on their backs.

This coming season, the competition in the AFC West will likely become tougher.  The Chargers, who always seem to disappoint their own fans by being unable to stay healthy or win big games, have a new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore and a possible speed threat in rookie wide receiver Quentin Johnston.

Meanwhile, the Broncos will have Sean Payton at the helm, while the Raiders have added up-and-coming wideout Jakobi Meyers.  With JuJu Smith-Schuster, their most productive wide receiver last season, gone, the Chiefs will have to stretch themselves to keep Mahomes undefeated on the road versus divisional opponents this fall and winter.
