Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid will celebrate the occasion by rocking bespoke cleats and shoes in honor of the NFL’s ‘My Cause, My Cleats’ initiative. The annual initiative, which allows players to showcase charitable organizations by wearing custom-designed cleats, will take center stage during Week 13 of the season.
Some of the Chiefs players will also have their custom cleats auctioned off with proceeds going to a charity they designate. Reigning Super Bowl MVP Mahomes will be honoring his 15 and the Mahomes foundation’s ’15 and Fare organization’, which offers food allergy education, access to care, and the resources patients need to confidently manage food allergies.
Mahomes and his wife Brittany are parents to two children with severe food allergies. Their oldest child, Sterling, is allergic to peanuts, milk, and eggs. Last year, Brittany rushed their then 8-month-old son Bronze to the emergency room after he reacted to the introduction of peanuts mixed into his bottle. “It was close to bedtime…so I thought, okay, maybe he’s just tired, let’s go ahead and take him to the bath and get him ready for bed,” Brittany told Healthline.
“Then I took his diaper off and realized he was broken out completely into hives, and within minutes it started getting worse and worse and going up his body, and within 10 minutes it was covering his entire body, his face included, which then began to make me panic a little bit.” Thankfully, Bronze was OK, and now Patrick and Brittany are strong advocates for food allergy awareness, education, and treatment — something the Chiefs QB will be bringing light to with his 2024 ‘My Cause, My Cleats’ shoes.

The white and gold cleats will have Mahomes’ ’15 and Fare’ logo emblazoned on them with a Chiefs esque red finish. Tight end Travis Kelce, meanwhile, will be sporting a custom pair of red and orange Jordan cleats in honor of Eighty-Seven and Running. Eighty-Seven and Running Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers disadvantaged youth to achieve success by providing resources and support to their communities and cultivating their talent in the areas of education, business, athletics, STEM, and the arts.
“As a kid I was mindful of how life looked different for everyone, but as a man I am profoundly aware of the difference in opportunity, exposure, and privilege I grew up with compared to others,” Kelce said. “Where you live, the situation you were born into or the color of your skin should have no impact on the dreams you can dream. “And it’s a beautiful thing when a kid’s dream comes true.”

Head coach Andy Reid will also be supporting the initiative, wearing customized Nike Air Max shoes in honor of the Giving Machines at Union Station in Kansas City. The red and white sneakers feature the phrase ‘Light The World’ on them. Wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Xavier Worthy will be honoring the Boys & Girls Clubs while tight end Noah Grey will be supporting Friends in Service of Heroes (F.I.S.H.).
