Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell clearly isn’t lacking for confidence. Eagles wideout A.J. Brown said Mitchell called a route of his “trash” during the team’s offseason workout Wednesday.
“Q doesn’t talk as much. He doesn’t really say anything. And, the first words I heard from him was like, ‘That route was trash,'” Brown told reporters. “I said, ‘What? You don’t even talk, and you’re talking trash?’ It was funny to hear from him.”

Mitchell was the No. 22 overall pick in April’s draft. The Toledo product was a first-team All-MAC selection his last two college seasons and was a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award.
The Eagles are expected to throw Mitchell’s feet immediately into the fire. He’s currently slated to be a Week 1 starter opposite of Darius Slay, a plan made even more obvious Tuesday when the team announced James Bradberry would be moving to safety. Fellow rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean is expected to compete for playing time in the slot as well this season as the Eagles look to revamp their secondary.
