Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift could be set to make their first red carpet appearance together at this year’s Met Gala, following more than 18 months of dating. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the 14-time Grammy winner have been notably present in each other’s lives, with Swift attending 23 Chiefs games to support her boyfriend.
Despite their frequent public support of each other, the couple has yet to make a high-profile Hollywood appearance together. Kelce notably missed Swift’s recent 67th annual Grammy awards on February 2nd, drawing criticism from some fans. The tight end’s absence from the Grammys was due to Super Bowl preparations, marking the second consecutive year he’s missed the awards show for the same reason.
According to the Mirror, the Met Gala in May could provide the perfect opportunity for their first red carpet debut, as Swift has no touring commitments planned for this year. Amid speculation about the couple’s potential Met Gala appearance, Kelce has recently revealed he’s contemplating retirement following Sunday’s Super Bowl defeat. “I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year. And right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road,” Kelce said.
The 10-time Pro Bowler emphasised he’s not rushing into any decisions. “Right now, the biggest thing is just being there for my team-mates and being there for my coaches, understanding that there’s a lot that goes into this thing,” he added. Kelce elaborated on the physical toll of his successful career, noting his extensive playing time in recent years.
