Taylor Swift is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, but she liked the Philadelphia Eagles first. The pop megastar’s favorite football team squares off with her new man’s squad on Monday in the biggest matchup of the NFL season. Off the field, Donna and Ed Kelce and Andrea and Scott Swift are all expected to be at Monday night’s game, per ET, although it has now been confirmed that Taylor will not be in attendance
Swift announced on Saturday that she was postponing her latest ‘Eras Tour’ show in Rio de Janeiro that evening until Monday due to extreme heat – one day after a fan died prior to her concert on Friday. This officially confirms she will not be making her way to Kansas City, where boyfriend Kelce has a special game in store against Philadelphia.

Travis’ older brother, Jason Kelce, is a center for the Eagles. The brothers will be playing against each other in the game and are likely to have a massive say in the final score. Where the 12-time Grammy Award winner’s loyalty would reside in this epic encounter is unknown, given she now has somewhat of an allegiance to both teams.
In June, Swift was spotted wearing a Philadelphia Eagles sweatshirt in New York City. However, during one of her recent shows in Argentina, Kelce met Scott Swift for the first time – and Taylor’s Eagles-supporting dad drew criticism for wearing a Kansas City lanyard. ‘He’s a huge football guy – he played college ball. I believe a year at Hawaii and then a year or two – I forget how long her was there – at Delaware,’ Kelce revealed about Swift’s dad on the brothers’ New Heights podcast. ‘I think he was a linebacker-turned center… he’s a tall guy – about 6-foot-2-inches.’
Jason Kelce, who is one of the most high-profile centers in professional football, responded: ‘We’re going to have to get together and talk some center shop one day.’ Swift’s Eagles’ fandom goes beyond a one-time outfit. She was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania and confirmed at a May concert she’s been a fan of the team for a while. ‘I have a lyric that says “With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door”‘ Swift told the audience at Lincoln Financial Field, the home venue of the Philadelphia’s professional football franchise.
‘I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles and I love the band the Eagles. But guys, come on. I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team,’ Swift added. Allegiances can always change, but there’s something sacrilege about switching fandom in sports just because of the person you’re dating. Most never run into the situation of dating a professional athlete and how that complicates which teams to root for.
The Swifts and Kelces rooting for both teams is a nice gesture, but deep down it’s unlikely reality for all involved. ‘You’re gonna let this man’s devilishly good looks and relationship with your daughter sway you from a life of fandom, Scott?’ Jason joked on his podcast. ‘This is ridiculous.’ Travis and Scott appeared to hit it off, but when Swift changed the lyrics to her song ‘Karma’, to reference her new boyfriend, the pair botched a high-five.
Ah Mr. Swift I apologize big guy. I never miss a high-five, a big high-five guy. It’s the most electric thing you can do at an event. So sorry Mrc Swift,’ Kelce said. Taylor has attended four Chiefs games since her and Kelce became an item, with none of Kansas City’s opponents infiltrating her personal fandom. The Chiefs are 4-0 with her in attendance, but are only 3-2 without the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer watching her new boyfriend live. Swift’s care for Kelce isn’t in question. Can she say the same for the Eagles?
