Hilarie Burton Predicts Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Will Be ‘Engaged by May’
The ‘One Tree Hill’ actress is a big fan of the singer and her NFL beau
Hilarie Burton is giving her stamp of approval to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s budding romance. The One Tree Hill actress, 41, joined a chorus of fans on social media reacting to the adorable moment when Swift, 33, changed the lyrics of “Karma” at Saturday night’s Eras Tour concert in Argentina to give a shout-out to her beau in the audience.
Instead of singing “Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me,” Swift sang, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” as Kelce, 34, watched her perform alongside her dad, Scott Swift, in the VIP tent during her second show in Buenos Aires. Burton retweeted a fan-captured video of Kelce’s sweet reaction to Swift changing the lyrics — and the deafening screams from the audience in response — and added her own two cents about the couple’s future.
“They are gonna have the most flannel lined, pie and red ribbon kinda Christmas,” she wrote in the post on X (formerly known as Twitter). “And then these babies are gonna be engaged by May.” A fan replied to her tweet, noting that Swift has “never done that for any other guy,” prompting the actress to add another comment on the relationship.
“Because every other guy made her feel like she had to downplay her own work. This big ol beefy tree of a man is holding up signs and singing along! Catching her as she runs offstage?!?!” Burton wrote in a follow-up tweet before comparing Kelce’s support of the “Anti-Hero” singer to her own husband’s support. “Just saying….strong @JDMorgan energy,” she added, referring to Jeffrey Dean Morgan. “Get a man who lights up when you win. 💖.”
Sunday’s tweet marks the second time that Burton, who married Morgan, 57, in 2019 after 10 years together, has compared her own relationship to that of Swift’s. In September, she shared another similarity between their respective relationships as she praised Kelce for inviting Swift — and the singer for following through on the invitation — to come see him play in Kansas City.
“Pro tip…you deserve someone who invites you to work with them,” she wrote in a tweet a few days after Swift cheered on Kelce for the first time on Sept. 24. She said that the invite shows that the person thinks “you’re so awesome” and wants “everyone from buddies to the boss to meet you.” She also said inviting someone else into their professional space shows “they work hard & they’re GOOD, & they want you to see that.”
She then recalled her early days with Morgan, as she said she flew to see him “on a set 14 yrs ago,” around the time he was working on Grey’s Anatomy. The day before, she had tweeted, “I am painfully invested in this,” in response to a clip of Swift cheering on Kelce after he scored a touchdown against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 24.
Over the weekend, Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made waves as he traveled to Argentina to support her on the international leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, and the two enjoyed a romantic dinner date on Friday and several cute moments during Saturday night’s show — including a sweet kiss post-concert. A source told PEOPLE that the pair “looked so cute on their low-key date night” on Friday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Buenos Aires, noting that “they also left holding hands.” “Travis was beaming,” the source added.
Another insider told PEOPLE that Swift was “excited to kick off her international tour” after a “great break” since a slew of shows in Mexico City in late August. A highlight of her time off was having “fun spending time with Travis,” who “is a gentleman” and has “an amazing energy and approach to life.” The insider added of the romance, “It all feels very special.”
