Slow-Mo Video of Grant DuBose’s Injury Emerges After a Head-to-Head Hit

TEXANS DOLPHIN HIT

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose went down with what appeared to be a very serious injury during their team’s game against the Houston Texans.  Texans safety Calen Bullock connected on a head-to-head hit with the defenseless receiver as DuBose ran inside during his route. Bullock was flagged for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on the play.

After staying down for more than 10 minutes, DuBose was eventually stretchered off the field and taken to a nearby hospital. He was alert and in stable condition at the time.  A slow-motion replay of the hit on DuBose emerged on social media.  (WARNING: The following linked video may be disturbing to some. X account @RTPSports shared the video of Grant DuBose’s hit that caused a 12-minute stoppage of the game.  Fans shared their prayers and thoughts for DuBose on social media.  “Grant Dubose started out playing Division II football, then during the pandemic he worked 3 jobs including bagging groceries at Walmart, before he got to @CharlotteFTBL in 2021. This year he got cut from the Packers, and Miami picked him up. He never gave up on his dream. Hoping he makes a full recovery and returns to the field soon,” a user posted.

“I can’t understand how the players can witness Grant DuBose’s injury and nearly losing his life on the field, yet find the strength to continue playing,” said one fan.  Shortly after DuBose was taken off the field, the Miami Dolphins’ social media team shared a positive update.

While DuBose was down, KPRC’s Chancellor Johnson commented he had never seen a player down for so long. He said this not as a complaint but out of concern for the player.  “This is the longest I’ve ever seen a game delayed because of an injury. The entire Dolphins team was circled in prayer. An emotional scene at NRG as Grant DuBose was carted off the field,” DuBose wrote.

One fan noted how the Texans fanbase behaved inappropriately during the wait for DuBose.  “That hit on Grant DuBose really bringing out the worst in the Texans fanbase. Can’t say I’m surprised after they defended one of the dirtiest hits in recent memory.”

When reporters spoke to Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill after the game, he shared another update about DuBose, per ESPN’s Kimberley A. Martin. “Tyreek Hill on the scary scene involving Grant DuBose: ‘The word is, he’s in good spirits right now. He’s moving.’ #dolphins.”  The Texans won the game over the Dolphins, 20-12.
