Don’t you just hate it when the story doesn’t end the way you want it to? That’s what the Chiefs Kingdom is feeling right now. Kansas City had it all – the strength, the talent, the QB who could make history. But the Eagles said, ‘Not under our watch.’ On Sunday evening, under the bright lights of Caesars Superdome, a dream came crashing down. And that too for a team that looked unstoppable the entire season. The way Patrick Mahomes and Co. were humbled in the final battle is something we won’t forget for a long time. And with a loss like that, it’s natural for people to show their raw and unfiltered emotions.

Enter Marquise Brown, the Chiefs’ WR, who poured his heart out after the team’s crushing Super Bowl loss. Taking to Instagram, Brown shared a couple of pictures of his journey with the Chiefs. The caption said it all, “Thankful for the journey .. 🙏🏿🖤 Yr. 6📖.” His fellow WR Xavier Worthy dropped a heartfelt comment, “Love brudda fr❤️.” And DeAndre Hopkins also chimed in showing his support with a string of applauding emojis.

It was Brown’s first year with the Chiefs, and it could have been a perfect debut year had the team won the Lombardi Trophy. The wide receiver started his NFL journey in 2019, donning the Ravens jersey for three years. After that, he graced the gridiron with the Cardinals for two years. Last March, Brown signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs. Sadly, he remained off the gridiron for most of the season, struggling with a sternoclavicular injury. In the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss, he managed two catches for 15 yards.

After the loss, Marquise didn’t just share an emotional post on Instagram, he also took to X (formerly Twitter) with a message that has fans speculating about his future with the Chiefs. “Proud of the guys, season I’ll never forget. Don’t know what the future holds, but thank you Jesus for the opportunity we had tonight. BackToWork,” he wrote.  On the other hand, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes also had a message for the Chiefs Kingdom after the heartbreaking loss.

When dreams shattered for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs

The entire 2024 season, there was one thing on everybody’s lips -the three-peat. And who was going to do it? None other than the three-time Super Bowl champ, Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs. Honestly, you couldn’t even doubt it after seeing how Kansas City played on the gridiron. This team had a knack for pulling wins out of thin air, even from the depths of hell. And we all saw that during the AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs clinched a nail-biting 32-29 victory in a game that went down to the wire. Mahomes fought till the very last second, showing everyone why he’s the guy you never bet against.

But oh, that fateful Sunday evening – when everything seemed to go against Patrick. The defending champions had no answers for the Eagles‘ merciless defense. Mahomes struggled to find the end zone for most of the game. It was one of those games where nothing clicked. And the weight of the moment felt heavier than ever.

After the bitter loss, Mahomes straight up owned it, writing, “I let y’all down today.” But true to form, he didn’t stop there. The 29-year-old promised to come back better and stronger. “I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it. Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity He has given me. We will be back,” he added.  The loss hurts, but Chiefs Kingdom knows better than to doubt him. The comeback tour? It’s already in motion.
