During nine long games, the Kansas City Chiefs remained undefeated in this NFL season. However, in the tenth game, against the Buffalo Bills, they finally lost their streak of victories despite often winning even when not performing at their best. It was just a matter of time, and Patrick Mahomes knew it.

The Chiefs had not been delivering the same electrifying performances as last season but still managed to secure wins thanks to the strength and quality of their players. Nevertheless, the Buffalo Bills brought them back down to earth on Sunday.
Captains do a captain’s job
Patrick Mahomes stepped up and faced the media once the game was over. Among his remarks, he emphasized their potential for improvement and viewed the loss as an opportunity for motivation in future games:
“We feel like we can play better, so we will get back to work and try to use this as a spark so that we can be a better football team in the end. The undefeated thing was cool, but that’s not our ultimate goal. … I’m hoping that it is a benefit.”

He continued to stress that this loss could make them stronger by serving as “fuel” for the team. The Chiefs are well aware that they can and should play better, and they are determined to do so. This setback was almost inevitable, but fortunately, it came against a team that is also formidable in its own right. Now, it’s time to make this moment count as they prepare to face the Panthers next Sunday, November 24, in what promises to be a challenging game in Carolina.
