Football fans may have only just learned within the past year that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has more siblings than just his TikTok star brother Jackson Mahomes. He also has a half-brother who has been trying to carve his own path in the football ranks.
Rice tight end Graham Walker is the third son of former Major League Baseball pitcher Pat Mahomes, and after playing his first three college football seasons at Brown, he decided to play his senior year for the Owls. In 2024, he had 24 receptions for 252 yards as Rice went just 4-8 in a chaotic season that saw head coach Mike Bloomgren fired mid-year.
Statistically it was the least productive season of Walker’s college career. His previous three seasons had seem him record more receptions, yards and touchdowns. 2021 at Brown, his freshman year, was by far his most productive as he had 53 receptions for 658 yards and six touchdowns – all of which were the high-water marks of his career. Walker now finishes his college playing career with 149 receptions for 1,717 yards and 15 touchdowns. He even has his own YouTube channel to highlight some of his career highlights.
But it doesn’t seem likely that Walker and his three-time Super Bowl MVP of a brother will be joining forces on the football field any time soon. For one, the Chiefs would probably be extremely skeptical of bringing in Walker for so much as a tryout, let alone giving him an opportunity to play in the NFL.
The other matter is that the two aren’t believed to be extremely close. According to media outlets that have met with Walker, he’s only met his half-brother a few times in his life. And while the Chiefs quarterback is reportedly “supportive” of Walker’s efforts, giving the man an NFL opportunity is probably asking a little much.
