Patrick Mahomes’ bye week wasn’t just about game film and rest—it was about roster additions to Team Mahomes. On January 12, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes announced the birth of their third child. A 3rd baby girl, Golden Raye. Yep, Golden joins siblings Sterling and Bronze in what’s becoming the most creatively named roster in the league. Throw in their dogs, Steel and Silver, and the Mahomes household sounds like a locker room of MVPs.
Back in July, the couple shared their pregnancy news on social media with a video that had serious dance-party vibes. Patrick, Brittany, Sterling, and Bronze were all smiles, with ultrasound photos in hand. But there was one person missing from that party and it was Pat Sr. yeah! However, he wasn’t going to let this moment slide… So the “Silky P,” chimed in under the IG post: “Another beautiful granddaughter. Great job, Britt.”
Well, we don’t know for sure why Pat Sr. did not join the party… But in retrospect we all did get the hint that maybe, just maybe, it was because Randi Mahomes was in the thick of it. Since the two got divorced, we hardly see them together on such occasions. And it’s understandable. But besides that, Granny Randi also took great pleasure in announcing the news on her Insta story with the caption: “Grandi x3.” Hell, yes! That’s three times more trouble from the lil chipmunks. But 3 times more blessings as well.
And talking about blessings, Pat and Britt literally got blessed with Raye, that too at the perfect time. Guess if Pat’s manifestation has anything to do with it.
Patrick Mahomes is not thinking about records right now, he’s a dad (again!)
Patrick Mahomes had a plan—get the Chiefs the No. 1 seed in the AFC and earn a bye week to welcome baby No. 3. And guess what? The guy delivered, both on and off the field. “I told my pregnant wife I was gonna get her the No. 1 seed so we can go have that baby,” Mahomes shared after clinching the top spot on Christmas Day.
Standing next to him, Travis Kelce couldn’t hold back his grin. Even Kelce knows, what’s up when it comes to family. By New Year’s, Mahomes was counting down two clocks: one for the playoffs and one for Brittany’s due date. “Brittany says I’ve been stressing her out too much this season,” he admitted, half-jokingly. “I got to try to not put so much stress on her through these football games and get the bye.”
Turns out, the timing was perfect. With a 15-2 record, the Chiefs secured their weekend off and celebrated Golden Raye’s arrival. From a football perspective, the Chiefs couldn’t ask for a better setup. A well-rested Mahomes can now shift focus to the Divisional Round against the Texans. The Chiefs have their sights on a third straight Super Bowl win, inching closer to the dynasty conversations.
Mahomes may have some work to catch up to Tom Brady’s seven Super Bowl rings, but let’s not overlook this. With a fourth championship, he’d join legends like Bradshaw and Montana. And if Mahomes keeps up this pace, maybe Sterling, Bronze, and Golden will need to clear room for Dad’s growing trophy case.
