Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have forged a seemingly unstoppable connection for the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s no surprise that they are being hailed as one of the league’s most exceptional quarterback-tight end duos in history. Last Sunday, Mahomes and Kelce showcased their remarkable synergy, connecting on 12 of 13 targets for 179 yards and a touchdown.
The Chiefs’ latest win was particularly significant, as it marked the 50th touchdown connection between Mahomes and Kelce. This achievement places them in rarefied air, solidifying their status as future Pro Football Hall of Famers.

Patrick Mahomes: I’m just glad he’s on my team
Patrick Mahomes couldn’t be more appreciative of the unique partnership he shares with Kelce. On Wednesday, talking about his connection with the tight end he stated, “I think defenses and defensive coordinators are doing their best to cover him…There’s a reason he’s Travis Kelce, he finds a way to get himself open, versus man, versus zone, versus everything. I’m just glad he’s on my team, I’ll say that.”
Mahomes and Kelce have spent over six seasons together in which they have won the AFC West division in each season, three AFC championships, and two Super Bowls.

Travis Kelce thinks Mahomes can surpass Tom Brady
Travis Kelce, in an appearance on the I AM ATHLETE podcast, heaped praise on Mahomes, saying, “I think (Mahomes will) catch (Tom Brady) in all the accolades but I think the biggest thing is always going to be those Super Bowls. That’s a lot of Super Bowls.”
Kelce’s respect for Mahomes is evident as he recognizes the young quarterback’s unique skills, especially his ability to improvise when plays break down. Kelce added, “His ability to get out of the pocket, still be able to throw it anywhere on the field as far as he needs to throw it, as short as he needs to throw it. Just being able to get it into somebody’s hands.”
