Brittany and Patrick Mahomes have shared good news with their family and fans after announcing the arrival of baby number three.  The couple announced last July that they were expecting another child together, and on Monday the couple revealed they have welcomed a baby girl to the family: Golden Raye Mahomes.  Brittany made the announcement via her Instagram account on Monday, revealing that Golden Raye was born on Sunday January 12.

The post showed Brittany and Patrick’s hand resting above Golden Raye’s feet, which are situated in front of a sign with her name on it.  Patrick stated that the baby was set to arrive imminently following the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day. He even joked that he hoped the baby would come during the team’s bye week before they begin their run in the playoffs.  “I told my pregnant wife I was gonna get her the number one seed so we can go have that baby. So we got that number one seed,” said Mahomes.

His comments came after he reveal that Brittany had been struggling given how tense games involving the Chiefs had been this season.  “Any day now,” he said of her due date. “Brittany says I have been stressing her out too much this season so I got to try and not put so much stress on her through these football games and get the bye.  “Hopefully God works the right way and we can have that baby maybe on the bye week somewhere. And then everything will work out perfectly.”

Patrick and Brittany add to the family

The arrival of Golden Raye means Patrick and Brittany are now parents to three children: Sterling, 3, Bronze, 2, and the newly arrived Golden Raye.  They began dating in high school and got engaged in September 2020, months after Patrick won his first Super Bowl with the Chiefs.  “You don’t think it’s going to be nerve-wracking, especially when you’ve been with someone for so long, but before you get on that knee, your heart’s racing, I promise you that,” he said.  With the new baby finally here, Patrick can now shift his attention to the Chiefs’ playoff push as they take on the Houston Texans in the NFC Divisional round on Saturday.
