Nike has seemingly unlocked a new level of Patrick Mahomes-as-Kermit-the-Frog trolling. In an ad released after Super Bowl 2025, the brand celebrates the Philadelphia Eagles winning the big game — and pokes fun at the Adidas-endorsed Kansas City Chiefs quarterback who may or may not sound a little like the Muppet. The commercial, set to Kermit’s signature song “Not Easy Bein’ Green,” shows a montage of moments from recent Eagles history. Like the iconic frog’s struggle, the spot shares the good and the bad.
From an image of sad Eagles players along the sidelines at Super Bowl 2023, covered in red-and-gold Chiefs confetti, to star running back Saquon Barkley dropping the ball to coach Nick Sirianni showing disgust along the sidelines, the Eagles’ road to getting back to the big game was not always easy, especially when the team started off .500 early this season.

But as Kermit poignantly sings the song, he realizes that, while he is green, “it’ll do fine” and “it’s beautiful” — similar to one of Barkley’s most heralded plays of the season, when he ran backwards with the ball while hurdling over the defense.
And just like Kermit’s journey, the franchise found its groove, and it all culminated in a 40-22 Super Bowl stunner over the Chiefs on Sunday, Feb. 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. “It’s Good to be Green,” the athletic footwear and apparel company wrote alongside the video. As the celebration continues in Philadelphia, Mahomes, 29, is already recalibrating and reflecting on the outcome of the game.
After one of the poorest showings of his career, the signal-caller thanked his fans and apologized for his effort. “Appreciate all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom,” he wrote on X. “I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it.” Mahomes added, “We will be back.”
