NFL star Josh Allen and actress Hailee Steinfeld got engaged last week, the couple announced on Black Friday. Both Allen and Steinfeld posted a picture on social media, which showed the quarterback down on one knee against a glorious coastal backdrop. ’11•22•24′ read the caption, suggesting the Bills star popped the question last week – during Buffalo’s bye week.
Allen enjoyed a brief break from NFL action after inspiring his team to a crucial win over back-to-back Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night and it seems the quarterback used his time off to ask Steinfeld to marry him. However, when asked by reporters ahead of Sunday’s game against the 49ers how his bye week was, Allen remained tight-lipped.

‘It was fantastic,’ he said with a wry smile while giving nothing away. ‘It was great. Got some sun, hung out with family… it was fantastic.’ The couple were first spotted together in May 2023, shortly after Allen split from longtime girlfriend Brittany Williams. Steinfeld, who enjoyed her breakthrough with an Oscar-nominated performance in True Grit, was seen alongside the quarterback in New York City.
They have since spent time in Mexico and at Paris Fashion Week but Allen and Steinfeld have – for the most part – kept their romance under wraps. ‘The fact that anybody cares about that still blows my mind,’ the Bills quarterback said last year in response to questions about their relationship.
Rumors began to surface earlier on Friday that Allen had popped the question and hours later the couple confirmed the news. In recent years Steinfeld, 27, has appeared in a host of films, including Pitch Perfect 2 and 3, and the Spider-Man franchise.
