On Sunday afternoon the Philadelphia Eagles got all they could handle from former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers.  Philadelphia escaped with a 22-16 win thanks to another impressive performance from running back Saquon Barkley, who racked up 124 yards on the ground. His effort was enough to break the Eagles single-season rushing record with four more games left to play.

“I think it’s pretty cool, the most important thing was getting a win, and we got the win,” Barkley said after the win, via NFL.com. “Being a fan of Shady (LeSean McCoy) growing up and seeing the spectacular things he was able to do with the ball in his hands and to be able to mentioned with him definitely means a lot. Gotta give credit to the guys up front. They’ve made my job a lot easier so far this year. Hopefully, it will continue.”

While Barkley’s performance on the field was notable, it’s what he did with his family before the game that had everyone talking. He took a moment to show some love to his son, Saquon Barkley Jr. and daughter, Jada, along with longtime partner Anna Congdon.  “This might be the cutest thing you see today: Saquon Barkley’s kids running onto the field to see their dad before the game,” reporter Gabriella Galati said.

Fans couldn’t get enough.

“I know baby girl is happy she finally winning,” one fan joked.

“I need to see another view of dad and daughter hand shake,” offered another.

“Great dad great husband. OH yeah and a great player,” added a third.

With an extra game in hand, Barkley is on pace to break the single-season rushing record set by Eric Dickerson. While he knows what’s at stake, the star running back is focused on the season at hand.

“I never wrote the goal down to break it, but you’re always aware of it,” Barkley said. “That’s how I train and that’s how I operate in the offseason and camp because I want to be great. That’s something that I want to do and something I believe I can do, especially with the men and women in our facility. They make it a lot easier for me.

“It’s all good. The records are great. They put a smile on your face, but the season’s far from over and there’s a lot of things that we would love to accomplish.”  Philadelphia faces off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in an in-state battle next Sunday afternoon.
