If giving Donald Trump’s inauguration a miss wasn’t a strong enough stance, Michelle Obama’s latest move certainly got the message across.  The former First Lady took to Instagram ahead of Trump’s big day on Monday, January 20, to share a poignant message after it was announced she would not be attending the Inauguration celebrations with her husband, Barack Obama.

She chose to share a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. on with her 56.9 million followers just a couple of hours before Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.  “The time is always right to do what is right,” the quote, which was also in support of the non-profit group When We All Vote, read.

In the caption, Michelle, 61, added: “Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service always inspires me.  “This #MLKDay, I hope you’ll join me and @WhenWeAllVote in honoring Dr. King’s life and legacy by getting involved in your community.  “Whether you’re mentoring students at your local school or volunteering for a cause that matters to you, it all helps make a difference. Tell me how you’re giving back today in the comments.,” her message concluded.

The post comes after the Obamas’ office announced Michelle would skip the big day.  While they didn’t provide a reason for her doing so, a source close to the couple told People Magazine that Michelle has stepped away from public life and certainly doesn’t want to return to it to honor Trump.  “There’s no overstating her feelings about him,” the source claimed.

Despite what many have seen as a snub, Trump and his team are said to be unbothered by Michelle’s absence. As per PageSix, a MAGA source insisted that they could not care less that Michelle gave the inauguration a miss.  “They are having a good laugh,” the source alleged of those who were involved in planning the celebrations.
