LSU’s Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark of Iowa shared one of the most talked about moments in all of sports in 2023, but the two had a much more subdued moment when the two players crossed paths in the handshake line Monday night. A year ago in the national title game, Reese taunted Clark at the end of LSU’s win, pointing to her ring finger in the final moments of the Tigers’ championship victory.
On Monday in Albany, New York, Reese and Clark shared a brief word and hugged as the two teams shook hands at the end of the Hawkeyes’ 94-87 victory to advance to the Final Four.
A lot of respect between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Fierce competitors. They’ve made the game better. pic.twitter.com/zpgYGytzMk

Reese played well early, but wasn’t quite the same in the second half after apparently reaggravating an injury to her right ankle. She fouled out with about 2 minutes remaining. Clark had one of the better games in recent NCAA Tournament history, hitting nine 3-pointers and putting up 41 points.
