LSU star Last-Tear Poa suffered a very serious-looking concussion recently which clearly had an effect on teammate Angel Reese. It has been reported that Poa now has movement to her extremities and has undergone a clean CT scan after suffering what was an extremely frightening injury to her head and neck.
It happened during her team’s 75-67 win over Ole Miss in the SEC women’s basketball tournament semifinals on Saturday. Per Cory Diaz of the Daily Advertiser, Poa was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, where the tournament is taking place, for further evaluation.
Reese reacts to Poa’s injury
The injury happened when Poa tried to draw a charge on Ole Miss’ Madison Scott with less than six minutes left of the final quarter. She hit her head and neck on the ground as she fell beneath the basket and it was immediately clear that this was a serious incident. She stayed down initially before trying to get off the court, but Poa laid back on the court as officials tended to her. Medical staff put Poa’s neck in a brace before she was stretchered off the court.
They never showed a replay of the Last-Tear Poa injury but you can see just how hard she hit her head on the floor. Glad to hear she’s being reported as stable pic.twitter.com/v6mfh6rrTu

Angel Reese took to Twitter to give Poa her best wishes, saying: “I LOVE YOU POA! THIS IS FOR YOU 13!” She also spoke postgame on the impact the injury had on her and her teammates. “It was for Poa tonight. I’m emotional just because we know how much she brings to the team and I hope she’s OK and we’re going to go check on her,” Reese said. “We have already been through adversity this year, so we trusted each other. We were built for this moment.”
