NBA superstars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Hollywood Brown were all in attendance for the Dallas Mavericks’ third game of the Conference Finals earlier this week. Mahomes, a Dallas native, is a huge fan of the Mavericks, regularly watching in person and on television. Dallas are 3-0 up in the series, and they remain on course to battle for the NBA crown, even though there is plenty of work still to do.
With Mahomes in attendance in his hometown, Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas has called for KC to have an NBA team. He quote tweeted a picture of Mahomes in Dallas and wrote: “Love to see it. Bring the Association back home to Kansas City and you’ll get KC folk all the time.”
Kansas City has not had a professional team since the Cincinnati Royals moved there and became the Kansas City Kings in 1972. The team later moved to Sacramento and became the Sacramento Kings in 1985. Many in KC want to see a team return to the area, and the possible NBA expansion is their best chance. But all indications suggest the two new teams will go to Las Vegas and Seattle.
Love to see it.

Mahomes also keen to bring NBA to Kansas City
Mahomes is also said to be rallying for a basketball team in Kansas City, with Heavy.com reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs superstar is hopeful of securing a pro team, being a huge basketball fan. Meanwhile, the quarterback has already invested in other sports in KC, including soccer and baseball, and he may well be willing to invest in a basketball team. But an NBA franchise would require a billionaire, and so there are major obstacles beyond the interest of the world’s greatest quarterback.
