Justin Bieber has been seen in public for the first time since Sean Combs was arrested and his tearful interview in which he reminisced about his “encounters” in the music industry resurfaced. The “Baby” singer, who welcomed his first son Jack Blues Bieber last month, was seen out and about in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesday night. He was first pictured with his wife Hailey, 27, as they went out for sushi in Malibu and they then attended a late church service in LA.
The 30-year-old dad wore an unzipped red hoodie, black baggie pants, and Louis Vuitton slippers, which he paired with a fedora. He was photographed holding a mug while having a drink. Hailey donned a black top and jeans, a cheetah-print coat, a matching bag, red shoes, and black sunglasses.
The new parents’ outing came days after a tearful interview Justin gave in 2020 resurfaced. In the Apple Music chat with Zane Lowe, the hitmaker couldn’t hold back tears as he poured out the tribulations he suffered in his earlier days. His voice wavered with emotion as he recounted periods of isolation and treachery in an industry so quick to turn its back.
Deeply moved by his own journey, Justin affirmed: “It was hard for me being the music industry and being that young and not knowing where to turn and everyone, you know, telling me they loved me, and, you know, just turn your back on you in a second.” He also said he didn’t want the same thing to happen to younger singers like Billie Eilish as he admitted he wanted to protect the “Birds of a Feather” singer.
Justin was in tears as he emotionally added that if Billie ever needed him “I’m going to be here for her.” The singer continued: “Yeah, just protecting those moments because people take for granted… encounters… and… I just want to protect her. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I don’t wish that upon anybody,” he candidly admitted.
After Combs was recently arrested and charged with sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, various videos of Justin and Diddy together are being looked at in a different light. In a video of 15-year-old Justin and then 40-year-old Diddy, the disgraced mogul told the camera that he was given “custody” of Justin and that he couldn’t discuss what Justin and he were going to do together. “He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose,” Diddy said in the video.
“I have been given custody of him. He’s signed to Usher and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album,” he continued, “I don’t have legal guardianship of him [Bieber] but for the next 48 hours he’s with me and we’re gonna go full crazy.”
And in another resurfaced video, Combs’ former bodyguard revealed some details on Justin’s visit to the rap mogul’s home. The ex-guard said in a clip: “I seen Bieber when he was 15 and actually, in that excerpt inside the house when he was like: ‘You want one of these? ‘ and it was a Lamborghini, he actually told me to pull the Lamborghini out front, I pulled it out front and it was me, him and Scooter [Braun].”
Delving deeper, he mentioned: “It was just one of those phone calls, basically: ‘I’m in town, bring Justin by. I want you to highlight him for a little while.'” With a glimpse into the visit’s brevity, he added: “And he just hollered at him, they ain’t stay together for 48 hours and all that. He was just talking **** right there, he stayed there for about an hour, two.”
Justin’s fans also now believe they found a reference to Combs in the singer’s 2020 song Lonely from the Justice album. The lyrics in question read: “And everybody saw me sick. And it felt like no one gave a ****. They criticized the things I did as an idiot kid. “What if you had it all. And it felt like nobody to call? Maybe then you’d know me. ‘Cause I’ve had everything. But no one’s listening. And that’s just lonely. I’m so lonely. Lonely.”
In a heartfelt 2020 post to his 110.3 million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, Justin shared: “To be honest the song is hard for me to listen to considering how tough it was to get through some of these chapters. I believe it is powerful to express vulnerability and that’s why I believe this song is so powerful.”
Justin hasn’t addressed Combs’ arrest or his connection with him earlier in his career and a source said his main focus now is his family as he is “in a happy bubble” since he and Hailey welcomed their son. “He’s aware of Diddy’s arrest and all the allegations,” a source told People. “It’s not anything that he wants to focus on, though.” The source also stated that the new dad has been “in a happy bubble since baby Jack was born” instead. They continued to PEOPLE: “He just wants to focus on being a great dad and husband.”
