Alongside his former teammate Fletcher Cox, also freshly retired from the NFL, Kelce and Cox delivered the ceremonial first pitches after a brief rain delay, eliciting cheers from the crowd and admiration from fellow athletes.

In a candid display of camaraderie, Kelce autographed Bryce Harper’s cleats while he was wearing them after his throw.  The gesture, captured in photos and video that went viral, further solidified Kelce’s status as a cherished figure in the city’s athletic community.

“It was an awesome experience,” Kelce said after throwing the first pich. “Really, really cool.”

“Today’s first pitch: Go Birds forever” the Phillies wrote on X capturing the moment on social media.

Accompanying Kelce was his wife Kylie, who was seen radiating joy in a white sweater adorned with red Phillies lettering.  The couple, parents to three daughters, enjoyed the game day experience, with Kylie sharing smiles and moments with Cox’s girlfriend, Kaycee Marchetti.

Despite his retirement from the NFL, Kelce continues to embrace his connection to Philadelphia sports.  As Kelce and Cox, both Eagles legends, embark on new chapters beyond the gridiron, their presence at Citizens Bank Park served as a poignant reminder of their impact on Philadelphia’s sports landscape.
