The Philadelphia Eagles showed the world they were the best NFL team last season as they annihilated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX 40-22.  It was an absolute display of football at its best, with a stunning defense that sacked quarterback Patrick Mahomes a record six times, while the offense clicked on almost every way, scoring 4 touchdowns.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts passed for 221 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception, while also recording 72 rushings yards and one rushing touchdown. The Super Bowl LIX MVP had himself a day, and it was clear that he was on a mission. How big was that quest? It was revealed on a recent video posted by the Eagles.

Jalen Hurts shares a powerful message with teammates

Quarterback Jalen Hurts spoke to his teammates a day before Super Bowl LIX and he had a powerful message to share with the Philadelphia Eagles, as we can see in a video shared by the NFL champions this Sunday. We see the whole team as they prepare to put on a show in the biggest stage.

“Last time that I was here, that s*** changed my life and it changed my mentality, it changed everything because for so long, I was seeking ‘What would I do when I get to this moment again? What would I do when this opportunity met me again, on the biggest stage when everybody is watching?'” Hurts shared.

The former Alabama and Oklahoma star lead the Eagles to Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs and even though he had one of the best games you could ask of a quarterback – passed for 304 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 70 yards with three rushing touchdowns – his team ultimately fell to Kansas City 38-35.

Hurts continued his speech by saying that he didnt’ get benched and he put on a good show. He then went on to praise his teammates for the constant support because he admitted that he left the field empty. “S*** doesn’t matter but winning, and when you talk about team sports, you talk about everything we’ve gone through, there’s been a mission this whole motherf***** time.”

The player finished by saying that the Eagles needed to go with a mentality of taking it one play at a time, letting the rhtym come to Philadelphia and that every single of his teammates neeed to ask themselves how they wanted to be remember after putting a lot of hard work during the season.

The road to victory for Hurts

Quarterback Jalen Hurts started the 2024 season facing questions about his play and that of the Philadelphia Eagles offense. He ended it with Philly winning its second Super Bowl trophy in franchise history — and with Hurts hoisting the game’s Most Valuable Player award.

He completed 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns in the 40-22 win. Hurts and the Eagles had built too big a lead during the first half of the game and the Kansas City Chiefs fell short on their quest of being the first NFL team to win three Super Bowls in a row.

Hurts also ran for the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a Super Bowl with 72, breaking his own mark set in Super Bowl LVII (70) when Philly came up short against the Chiefs. This time, things were very different for Philadelphia as they made a statement about who’s ruling the NFL.
