Welcome to motherhood, Gypsy Rose Blanchard. The Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star and her partner Ken Urker welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Aurora Urker, he shared on Instagram Jan. 1. “Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” Ken wrote alongside a photo of the pair holding their daughter.
According to TMZ, Aurora was born in Louisiana on Dec 28, which marks one year since Gypsy was released from prison, where she was serving time for her role in her mom Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard’s 2015 murder. While behind bars, Gypsy married Ryan Anderson in 2022, but ultimately filed for divorce in April 2024.
That same month, Gypsy and Ken rekindled their romance. The pair first began their relationship in 2017 and got engaged in 2018 while she was in prison. And although they broke up in 2019, the pair reunited in the spring and have been inseparable ever since. “I didn’t have it on my bingo card,” Gypsy told E! News last year. “And here we are.”
In July, Gypsy announced that she was expecting her first child with Ken in an emotional YouTube video. Alongside a few pictures of their first ultrasound and a little sweater on Instagram, the pair wrote at the time, “We are proud to announce we are expecting our first child in January 2025 @kenurker.” Over the course of her pregnancy, Gypsy shared insight into her pregnancy milestones from her 16 and 20 week checkups, and videos of her little girl kicking around in her tummy.

In fact, Gypsy documented her surprise second trimester milestones in a video shared with her followers. “I have started to feel her kick a lot,” Gypsy explained in her Sept. 18 YouTube video. “I have started to feel those movements and I’ve started to notice her sleeping patterns. I have noticed that she kicks a lot at night, anywhere from 9 at night to 11 at night, and she’s calmer during the daytime.”
Gypsy also revealed that her diet played a role in her little girl’s movements. “I have noticed that she’s more active whenever I eat sweets,” she recalled. “I ate a KitKat bar and she was up for two hours kicking me like every five seconds, so I’m getting used to that. So far, that part of it has been very magical.”
Prior to the birth of her baby, Gypsy also opened up about her plans for motherhood and shared the type of mother she planned to be to her daughter. “I have so much to focus on, making sure that I’m healthy for this baby,” she said in a July interview with Good Morning America. “There’s this tiny little life that is inside of you and that little tiny life is a baby, a little tiny human that’s yours and that you have to make sure you protect, you love, you take care of, and all of the things that I wished I could’ve had when I was little. All the things that I wanted in a mother, I’m going to give to this baby.”
