The biggest story in MLB right now is very clearly Shohei Ohtani. The Japanese mega-star is always the center of attention due to his performances, but he’s in it for the wrong reasons before the start of the regular season. A betting scandal involving his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, has put a magnifying glass on Ohtani and his actions. He has kept very close to the vest since everything came out, but everyone is trying to catch him red-handed.
Was Shohei Ohtani gambling in Angels dugout with Ippei mizuhara?
On Wednesday, a video made the rounds of Ohtani and Mizuhara playing a sort of mini-game in the dugout during their days with the Los Angeles Angels.
Nah nah nah… but homie doesn’t gamble. pic.twitter.com/B2BM3E3S2G

It very well could have just been a fun way for friends to be competitive during the lulls of a baseball game. Still, many on social media believe the way Ohtani celebrated winning the mini-game shows there may have been money on the line. Everything Ohtani has done and will do as we enter the 2024 MLB season will be put under a microscope. Look for him to steer clear of any distractions or situations in which his actions might be misconstrued.
