One of Emma Raducanu’s potential Wimbledon opponents has expressed interest in serving as her future coach. The 2021 US Open champion has gone through several trainers in her attempt to return to her previous level of play at Flushing Meadows, as injuries have impeded her progress in recent months.
Before the year’s first Grand Slam, the 21-year-old underwent surgery on both of her wrists and ankles last year. She then made a comeback in Australia. To focus on the approaching grass-court season, where a difficult opponent might be waiting, she withdrew from the French Open qualification.
Even though Ons Jabeur is still chasing her first Grand Slam triumph, she has advanced to the last two Wimbledon singles tournament finals, demonstrating her ability at the British Major. Jabeur said in an interview that Raducanu is the one player on the WTA that she would like to teach in the future, and she has reached out to him to offer her skills. Jabeur said: “I would say Emma Raduccanu. I have a good relationship with her and I think I can help a little bit with some advice. I mean, I would not be the main coach; I would be the consultant, I guess, for a new job. Emma, if you’re hiring, I’m available.”
