On Saturday night, the Connecticut Sun took down the Chicago Sky with an 86-82 final score — soiling Angel Reese’s regular-season home opener at Wintrust Arena.  After the game, the Sun made sure to send a clear message to its opponent.  “Guess The Sky reached their limit!” Connecticut’s social media account wrote on X, along with a meme saying “The limit does exist.”

This jab was in reference to a pregame hype video posted on the Sky’s X account.  “L I M I T L E S S,” the team wrote as the caption to its video.

Reese finished her first regular-season home game with 13 points and five rebounds, despite taking a hard foul from Sun veteran Alyssa Thomas.  Thomas swung at Reese’s neck while going after a rebound, throwing the rookie down on the court. The Connecticut forward was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected from the game.   In her postgame comments, Reese thanked Thomas for not giving her any special treatment as a rookie.  Reese and the Sky will look to bounce back in their next matchup against the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night.
