Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky team suffered their second loss of the 2024 WNBA regular season on Saturday, after they came up short against the Connecticut Sun. While the game was an exciting back and forth contest all the way through, the most memorable moment by far was when Sun forward Alyssa Thomas was ejected for a vicious foul on Reese during the third quarter.
The foul took place while the two were trying to secure a rebound. As Reese jumped in the air, Thomas flung her backwards by her neck, which sent Reese sprawling to the floor.

Referees deemed the foul a Flagrant 2, which meant Thomas got ejected. While Reese was clearly shaken up afterwards, she ultimately returned to the court, shot her free throws, and the game continued.
As expected, Reese’s fans were outraged over the incident. But Reese addressed their anger on X after the game by writing, “EVERYONE, i’m good! its just basketball. we gon shake back! #skytown.”

Fans were glad to see Reese in good spirits. “the Reese’s Pieces don’t play about you sis!!!” wrote one fan. “We glad you good, but we not letting AT off the hook for that sorry,” said another.
