Angel Reese has been keeping fans talking on social media as she showed off a new look without braids, having recently made her return to the basketball court. The NCAA star was in fine form as she ended her period of extended leave in LSU’s 89-point victory over McNeese State on Thursday.
She has been busy away from the court too, exploring different looks with her hair as she posted a story on Instagram showcasing what she looks like without her trademark braids. Instead, Reese could be seen sporting a short hairstyle and posted two images one after the other to highlight the major difference.
She wrote to her 2.6 million followers: “Under the weave and them braids is a girl with a healthy outgrown bob. I need a trim”. Only two days ago, Reese treated herself to a special makeover from a ‘weave-ologist’, putting in extra-long extensions she described as ’40-inch’. And her fans clearly liked what they saw as they flocked to the comments section to make their approval known.
Angel Reese coy on absence
Reese has been a major talking point over the past month after an extended absence from NCAA action.
It was on November 14 when Reese was sidelined during LSU’s game against Kente state – a decision that raised plenty of eyebrows given her importance on the team. She didn’t make a single appearance in any of the next four games that followed, which sparked plenty of speculation over why she wasn’t playing.
But in typical fashion, she channeled any negativity into an impressive performance for her team on Thursday and after the game, her cryptic message only added fuel to the fire as to why she wasn’t playing. “Everyone has a chapter they don’t read out loud. just remember, this my world y’all just living in it,” she said on Instagram after the game – a message which seemed to hint at some sort of recent personal struggle.
