Monday night was a dream come true for the best women’s college basketball players of the past few years, as they saw their names called in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Caitlin Clark was a foregone conclusion to be the 1st overall pick, while Angel Reese slid a little bit but ended up going 7th overall. The contract figures for both were already known as soon as they were picked.
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark’s contract details
Clark will make more than Reese due to being a higher pick in the draft, but it’s not by much.

If those numbers seem low, it’s because the WNBA is yet to really take off and bring in different streams of high revenue. The hope is that Clark and Reese, along with other very talented players from their draft class, will bring millions of new viewers and fans for the league. If that does happen, then the league will continue to increase its revenue. More money for the league means more money for the players.
Given that Clark brought about viewership records for ESPN during the NCAA Tournament and Reese has a huge following on social media, the two are set to revolutionize the WNBA. And don’t worry, they will be making plenty of money on the side from endorsement deals.
