Angel Reese is taking her preparation for the WNBA draft seriously. After LSU’s women’s basketball team was defeated in the NCAA, it left a bitter taste as they were one of the favorites. Ange Reese and her team want to learn and follow in the footsteps of NBA star Victor Wembanyama. Reese is practicing with the same coach as the San Antonio Spurs’ star, Tim Martin.

Tim Martin is a well-known skills coach around the NBA. In 2022, he organized a training session with Victor Wembanyama and Tyrese Maxey.
2 years ago (2022) got these two guys together @TyreseMaxey @wemby
Vic just wanted to work on defense, and Rese wanted to work on attacking the bigs off the switch. It was fun watching these guys go at it. pic.twitter.com/Px0lRYjWLs

Can Angel Reese benefit from Wemby’s style?
At first glance, Angel and Wemby have two different playing styles. Angel, on one hand, has classic center skills in basketball, with movements in the paint and good offensive positioning. Meanwhile, Wembanyama is a much more versatile big man.
He has a three-point range like never seen before and also possesses ball-handling skills almost like a point guard. Angel will have to change her game significantly and have a learning curve if she wants to play like Wemby.
When is the 2024 WNBA Draft?
The WNBA Draft 2024 will be held on Monday, April 15 at the famed BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert will announce the draft picks live on ESPN.
