Fans showered the Chiefs players with cheers during last month’s Super Bowl LVIII championship parade, and one of them had a message for those supporters Linebacker Drue Tranquill, who played his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before signing last year with the Chiefs as a free agent, said KC is better than LA. “This is way better than LA! Hey, this is way better than LA!” Tranquill shouted. “It’s way better than LA! I promise you that.” Randy Newman may love LA, but Tranquill not so much.

That’s why he’s thrilled to have agreed to a three-year deal to stay with the Chiefs, per multiple reports. After details of his new contract were announced, Tranquill wrote a message to fans on X (formerly Twitter): “unfinished business #ChiefsKingdom LETS GOOOOO”

Travis Kelce responded to that photo of his teammate and was fired up.

Tranquill’s post generated an avalanche of responses from Chiefs fans. Here is what they were saying on X, along with some thoughts shared on Reddit.

A fan on Reddit wrote: “3 years that’s awesome!!!!! Good job Veach!!!!” Another shared this: “That’s crazy cheap for what he brings to the table. He likely could have made more in FA but you could tell he was super happy to be in KC this year.”

“It’s rare Veach brings in a guy on a 1 year deal and then re-sign them to a multi year deal like this,” a fan wrote on Reddit. “Drue earned it. He really impressed us all. Love this move.”
