Apparently, not everyone is happy with the exorbitant amount the LA Dodgers have spent on reinforcements.  Logan Webb, star pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, opened up about the Dodgers bringing in Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow, reports Al Bat.  “At some points in the offseason I was upset and frustrated. You don’t want to face these guys. There’s something about them that you don’t like. I can’t explain it,” Webb detailed.

How much have the Dodgers spent this off-season?

The 27-year-old starter also said that in the wake of the Dodgers’ billion-dollar winter spending, some Giants players have expressed, via text message, their displeasure with how the Los Angeles team was bolstered.  “We all texted each other. We didn’t like it. It’s something we have to deal with now. We just have to go out and play and do our best to compete with them and beat them,” he said.  Logan Webb’s confessions were made during an interview with San Francisco radio station KNBR.

Dodgers surpass a billion in reinforcements

With the addition of Japan’s Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the two most prized gems of free agency, the Dodgers became the first sports franchise to surpass the billion-dollar mark in reinforcements, but now on track, they have added to their roster the talent they need to fill the gaps, have a lineup with batting power in both profiles and do what they can to have a team that can fight to win the next World Series.

Although Ohtani signed a contract of 700 million dollars over 10 seasons, it is noteworthy that if the Japanese agreed to defer 680 million dollars.  He did so that the franchise had liquidity to continue with the signings, so they have been able to add Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and Manuel Margot, in addition to the agreement with Teoscar Hernandez, with whom manager Dave Roberts will have a right-handed power hitter to combat left-handed pitchers.
