Congratulations To Chiefs Star Who Got Married And Then Announced They’re Expecting Their First Child: ‘Every Prayer Answered in One Yes’
The Kansas City Chiefs right tackle announced the news on Sept. 29, a little over two months after the couple celebrated their first anniversary
Wedding bells continue to ring for the Kansas City Chiefs!
On Monday, Sept. 29, Jawaan Taylor announced his engagement to his girlfriend of a little over a year, fitness instructor and influencer Tiffany Hylton, on social media.
The Chiefs right tackle, 27, popped the question in front of an elaborate red backdrop featuring two spiraling balloon towers and a large, heart-shaped floral arrangement with a neon sign that read, “Will you marry me?” The pair were also surrounded by candles, rose bouquets, flower petals and photos of themselves during the special moment.
Both Taylor and Hylton shared pictures of the proposal on Instagram. The couple appeared visibly emotional as they embraced and showed off the latter’s large engagement sparkler.
“Yes 10000x 🥺❣️,” Hylton, 25, wrote alongside her post. “Thank you Jesus for blessing us. May we honor you in all we do. To forever.”
Taylor, meanwhile, captioned his post: “Every prayer answered in one yes. 💍 Thank you Jesus! #Engaged 🤍🥂.”
Several Chiefs stars showered the right tackle with love in the comments, including wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who wrote, “Congrats family,” and offensive lineman Creed Humphrey, who said, “Congrats!!” The official Chiefs account also commented: “Congratulations ❤️.”
Ahead of their engagement, Hylton filmed a TikTok, revealing that she suspected her NFL star boyfriend was preparing to pop the question.
“I’m literally in a rush, but I think I’m getting engaged,” the fitness instructor whispered in the video, before quietly celebrating with a smile and a dance. The clip then cut to footage of the rose-covered proposal, showing the exact moment Taylor got down on one knee.
She later shared more glimpses of the engagement on Instagram Stories, including a close-up of her ring, a marquise sparkler with what appears to be an eternity band. “He did so good,” Hylton wrote over a clip of the ring glittering under her phone’s camera flash. “I love you baby ❤️.”
The influencer also reposted one of the engagement shots that shows her tearing up and wrote, “Cry baby😂😂🥰.” She also shared her excitement in a mirror selfie that prominently showed off her ring, writing, “Me every day: ‘my fiance said.’ 🤣🩷.”
It seems Hylton is already diving into wedding planning. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the fitness instructor asked for recommendations for wedding planners, venues and bridal designers in an Instagram Stories post.
Taylor and Hylton’s engagement comes two months after they celebrated their first anniversary together as a couple on July 13. The pair both marked the milestone by sharing professional couple photos on Instagram, along with special tributes to each other.
Alongside his post, Taylor wrote, “7.13 🖤 One year. One beautiful, unforgettable trip around the sun with you. You’ve filled my heart with so much love, laughter, and peace. I’m blessed to call you mine. I love you sweetheart. Happy Anniversary!”
“713❣️the love you give is immensely passionate like a burning flame. every second, minute, and hour,” Hylton captioned her own anniversary post. “I can’t help but to feel it so intensely. you are such a blessing to my heart. the horizon to my sunset…happy anniversary I love you more than words can express | may Christ continue to cover us.”
Taylor is joining several of his Chiefs teammates who are currently engaged. Tight end Travis Kelce is engaged to Taylor Swift, and wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. is set to wed Chariah Gordon.
