Fans point fingers at Dave Roberts for World Series loss and his handling of Shohei Ohtani
Fans took to social media to make their stance on Dave Roberts and his decisions clear.
After securing an important victory in an 18-inning marathon game, the Dodgers suffered in Game 4 against a Toronto Blue Jays team that managed to tie the World Series 2-2, and one thing has become clear: when things go wrong, fans point to Dave Roberts as the main culprit for his decisions.
The outlook was very encouraging for the LA team with Shohei Ohtani on the mound and all the momentum from what they achieved the day before, but the pitch count kept piling up for the Japanese star, and the damage could have been avoided.

First, with 36 pitches, the Japanese superstar allowed a home run to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the top of the third inning-a lead the Dodgers were never able to overcome.
Ohtani’s velocity dropped from an average of 98.5 mph to 97.6, and although he managed to escape several jams, he left inherited runners that the bullpen allowed to score-something Dodgers fans cannot forgive Dave Roberts for.
“I’d fire Dave Roberts solely based off the fact that he continues to put Blake Treinen on the mound,” one can read on the social network X, where the predominant complaint is about the bullpen and the presence of Andy Pages in the lineup, a player who isn’t even batting andy in the postseason.
“Dave Roberts gave up on this game by putting in Blake Treinen,” another post reads.
“Dave Roberts is about to manage this World Series away because he refuses to bench Pages who is an automatic out every time at the plate.”

Dave Roberts is at it again…terrible management of his bullpen leaving Ohtani in too long, should’ve pulled him after 6 with 90 pitches pic.twitter.com/ykU9SYhyA0

The timing of decisions is one of the aspects that can determine a World Series, and in this regard, Dave Roberts was not the most accurate. Once again, he is one of the most hated figures in all of MLB, and the joy from the euphoric Game 3 victory evaporated in just a few hours.
This was the last game of the season at Dodger Stadium, as the World Series will continue in Toronto, where the champion will be decided.
